10th June 1825
An Act was given Royal Assent (George IV) for a tramroad to be built from “Duffryn Llynfi, in the Parish of Llangonoyd, to or near a certain Bay called Pwll Cawl, otherwise Porth Cawl in the Parish of Newton Nottage.”

Porthcawl was born upon uninhabited land that was sandy and open to the elements.

1826  Wyndham Lewis MP first chairman was entrusted with creating the company seal.
