POLICE DAY at PORTHCAWL MUSEUM - 18th July 2026
Police Day at Porthcawl Museum celebrated the history of policing in Porthcawl through a programme of living history, educational activities and fun, family-friendly activities.

Taking place in and around the museum's historic Old Police Station, the event featured costumed volunteers portraying police officers, magistrates, ragamuffins, and other historical characters. Similar events have included courtroom demonstrations, police drills and re-enactments of suffragette protests, reflecting the social history of the early 20th century.
This years event was enhanced by the presence of the police band and serving mounted officers. The science of policing was also celebrated through an interactive demonstration of finger-printing techniques.
